From early childhood in India
I was attracted to rhythm and sound. After graduation in classical music
and comparative literature, I taught, researched, published, performed,
composed, recorded, and served for eleven years as a docent at the Baltimore
Museum of Art. There, as I encountered art in its full glory, pieces
that arrested me were those that whispered, echoed, sang, talked or
screamed at me. Colors became sound. Not surprisingly, my music and
poetry strive to visualize colors and my paintings, to capture rhythms/sounds.
