As a child,
I always expected to grow up and be a visual artist like my mother.
However, due to a horrendous art teacher my first semester at university,
I switched majors to music. Music has enriched and sustained me.
A few years ago,
as my youngest son entered high school I started to imagine life after
kids. The artistic roots of my childhood resurfaced, and I began to
explore what might have been. Acrylic has emerged as my medium of choice.
I believe the
world would be a better place if people understood and appreciated the
great diversity of being that exists among humanity. Whether it be differences
in cultures or the differences in our minds, every person's experience
has validity. In my art, I try to open a window of perception to different
perspectives.
